Effective July 1, 2005, Telecom offers WiFi wireless services installations using the following pricing structure:
- During FY11, installation of wireless access points that do not require any unusual labor or material will be considered a "WiFi Basic Installation" and there will be no charge to the clients. (See Footnote 2)
- The monthly fee for wireless access points will be $70. This fee will cover maintenance, support, and future upgrades of the access point.
If your department, college, or business unit is interested in using WiFi wireless services, please send e-mail to Telecom to request an estimate and additional information. Clients who require new installations of wireless services are encouraged to request a cost estimate from Telecom in order to determine whether the intended locations qualify for waiving the WiFi Basic Installation Fee.
1 The MRC is per access point. The number of access points required depends on client needs, expected type of use, and the type of building construction. Telecom will estimate the number of APs that are necessary prior to beginning the installation.
2 Typical installations do not require additional labor and material charges. In situations where such charges apply, Telecom will include an estimate and request approval from the client to proceed prior to beginning the installation.
