Virus Protection

The University of New Hampshire practices defensive computing and is dedicated to providing the information and services needed to make your environment most secure. To that end, we have contracted with McAfee, leading maker of virus mitigation software for Windows, to help protect users of that operating system.  This contract allows us to provide McAfee VirusScan Enterprise with the Anti-Spyware Module to our faculty, staff, and students.

Anti-Virus Software for Windows

Protect your Windows computer from viruses and spyware software.

While VirusScan will automatically check for virus definition updates daily, there are times when users may need to update the virus definitions and scanning engine manually (such as during an outbreak or if they have been quarantined on the UNH network).

McAfee ePO Agent allows UNH to automatically deploy the latest approved version of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise.  Offered as an optional download, this includes definition files (DATs), scan engine, extraDATs, hot fixes, policy updates and patches.
