If you already have Kaltura enabled please see the following quick starts for various use cases.

Placing Audio or Video Files in content areas as content items.

Most faculty have found after uploading video or audio files, they would like to integrate it in to their course content (not CMS) areas. They can can do so by following these steps. If they have not uploaded the file, they can do so. Instead of clicking on "My Content" in step 5 Chose to upload the file using the upload function and otherwise follow these instructions.

  1. Click on Add Interactive Tool
  2. Click on Kaltura Media
  3. Fill in the required fields (Name in step 1, and choose single media in step 2)
  4. When you've clicked single media, the kaltura window should pop up. Click on the Audio or  Video tab
  5. Click on My Content in the row to the left.
  6. Click Search to display all of your uploaded media, or type in a search string and click Search to narrow the results
  7. Click on the thumbnail of the video or the check box of the audio you want to use
  8. Click Next
  9. Add any info you want or click Next again
  10. This should take you back to the blackboard screen where you can click Submit

 

 

Adding Existing Media files from Kaltura to additional Course Media Galleries

UsSers may have media files they wish to use in different courses or sections. Once they have uploaded the file, they need only link it in additional courses.

  1. Navigate to the Course Media Gallery in the course you wish to make video available.
  2. Click Add Media and click Add Video
  3. Click on the Video or Audio tab
  4. Click My Content on the left
  5. Click Search to display all your media, or type in a search string and click Search to narrow the results
  6. Click on the thumbnail of the video or the check box of the audio you want to use
  7. Click Next
  8. Add any info you want or click Next again
