What is a Banner Finance account?

Banner Finance is the financial management systems database for USNH. This includes invoices, purchase orders, encumbrances, journal entries, etc. In order to access this system, you must apply for a Banner Finance Account.


Who can get a Banner Finance account?

Accounts are issued to University System of New Hampshire staff members upon request of their respective department head. These accounts are to be used only by the staff member to whom the account is assigned, and only for the purpose of performing administrative data processing within the confines of the staff member's official University duties.


How can I apply for an account?

How do I change my password?

1.    Go to the following link to log into the VPN: https://ecgvpn.unh.edu
2.    Click on the 'Enterprise VPN ' link in the tan bar [click here to view a screen capture].
3.    Enter your AD username and password and click Sign In. If this is your first time connecting to the ECG VPN, please refer to the following instructions: http://www.usnhgateway.org/ecgvpn/ecgvpn.html
4.    The Juniper Network Connect Client launch and you will see a small lock icon Taskbar lock iconminimized down by your PC clock.
5.    You should then be automatically redirected to the USNH Gateway page.
6.    Under the Production Systems Menu choose USNH Finance/HR Banner »» Finance/HR Banner Production (BPRD).
7.    Log in with your Banner Finance/HR username and password.
8.    In the Go To… text box type: GUAPSWD
9.    Hit Enter.
10.  Type in your current password, then your new password twice.
11.  Hit the Save icon (you will be logged out, then logged back in).


What if I forget my password?

Contact the UNH IT Service Desk at 862-4242.


How do I modify my Banner Finance Account?

NoteIf you have any questions regarding the modification of this account or are unable to complete the online modification form, please contact the Banner Finance Security group at banner.finance.security@unh.edu.  Banner Finance/HR usernames cannot be changed.


What are the system requirements for using Banner?

Currently Banner Finance only supports computers running Microsoft Windows XP with the following programs:

Warning: Banner Finance is not currently supported to run on Windows Vista, OS X, or with Mozilla Firefox.  You may experience limited functionality while using these unsupported operating systems and browsers.


How do I access my account?

You will need to connect to the Enterprise VPN (https://ecgvpn.unh.edu) before accessing Banner Finance. Once connected, you should be automatically direct to the Enterprise Systems Gatway (http://www.usnhgateway.org). Then simply click on Production Systems » USNH Finance/HR Banner » Finance/HR Banner Production (BPRD) to connect.


Where can I get training?

The IT Training Center offers free Banner classes for active and prospective Banner users. You can view class details and training schedules at http://it.unh.edu/trainingcenter.


How do I get a Banner Finance account disabled?


The Human Resources employee termination process is directly related to disabling of computer accounts.  On an employee's termination date his or her Banner Finance account will be automatically disabled.  If you want an account disabled prior to an employee leaving the University, please call the UNH IT Service Desk at 862-4242. Click here for more information on the deactivation of computer accounts.
