Microsoft is now offering a version of Internet Explorer (IE 9) that is currently not compatible with many Enterprise Applications such as AppMan, Banner, FAMIS, Kronos, WebI, Workflow, and Xtender. Users of these applications should run the following block utility to prevent Microsoft Windows Updates from automatically upgrading to IE9. The block utility will not prevent you from installing the updates later; it will simply keep your computer from automatically updating to Internet Explorer 9.
This page must be viewed with Internet Explorer.
Windows XP users: Internet Explorer 9 is not compatible with XP and will not be automatically installed during Windows updates.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
1. Click on the appropriate Block Utility button below.
2. Click Save and save the file to your desktop.
Important: Do NOT chose Run after saving.
3. Right-click the file on your desktop and select Run as Administrator.
4. A box will pop up, informing you that the utility has been installed successfully. Click any key to continue.
5. Your computer will now block the automatic update.
